Open Beta

ChronoLink is currently in open beta testing. This means anyone can sign up and use it for free, no strings attached. Follow our Getting started guide to create and set up your account.

What does "beta" mean, is it incomplete?

ChronoLink is definitely usable and robust, and suitable for everyday use. Many of our testers have been using it for over a year now!

The main reason why the service is still in beta is that we currently lack the internal functionality required for customer account management and billing. Also, there are all sorts of non-technical steps to set up a business for selling products globally. While those are being worked on, we can easily keep our doors open for testers as they provide valuable feedback regarding functionality, usability and so on.

Who can become a tester, and what is expected of them?

Anybody who has an account with Google or Microsoft (Exchange Online / Outlook.com) can sign up for the beta. It does not matter where they live or whether they want to use ChronoLink at work or at home.

There are no special expectations. Use the service, and if you feel like providing feedback, please do! If not, that's totally fine as well. If you don't use the service or have stopped using it, you can either keep your beta account or tell us to delete it.

When will the beta phase end, and what will that mean for testers?

We plan to fully launch in the third quarter of 2024. At that point, we will introduce new free and paid plans. However, testers can continue to use their beta accounts without losing functionality for at least six more months. Afterwards, their accounts will be converted to the free plan.

What will the final pricing structure look like?

Our current draft pricing is visible on the Pricing page. While the details are obviously not set in stone, we are committed to the following goals:

  1. The free "Basic" plan must be really usable and include the essential features. A time-limited trial is not sufficient.
  2. The paid plan(s) must be priced reasonably. Sure, Calendar synchronization is useful and ChronoLink is very powerful. However, we feel that for an entry-level plan, a monthly charge of e.g. 5 or 10 € (as is common for many other services regardless of industry) would be wildly inappropriate.

What do you do with my data?

  • When running your synchronization connections, we never store the event data on our servers.
  • For everything else, we access and store only the data that is required to provide the service to you.
  • Your email address is only used if we need to contact you for business matters (e.g. getting your agreement on Terms of Service changes) or in case of problems. We do not send newsletters.
  • We do not sell or give away your data to anybody.
  • We do not use your data to train so-called AI models.

For details, please read our Privacy Policy which is written in plain english, not cryptic legal language.

How should I contact you?

Please email support@chronolink.app. Alternatively, if you have a Fediverse account (e.g. on a Mastodon server or another ActivityPub-enabled platform), you can send a message to @chronolink@corp.social.
